The overwhelming feeling of loss and loneliness can be the very epitome of what causes insomnia. A depressed person often has physical reactions to the feelings inside him. A person who is depressed will not only suffer from insomnia, but will become lethargic or more anxious due to the slowing down of the body that naturally occurs as a result of the depression.
